Terms of Service

Effective date: 11 July 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Roadmapper— the website at roadmapper.space, the web application at app.roadmapper.space, and our mobile applications (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Cognix(“we”, “us”, “our”), based in India. You can reach us at cognix@roadmapper.space.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Roadmapper is

Roadmapper is an AI-assisted learning and career platform. It generates personalised learning roadmaps, study content, quizzes, flashcards and practice questions; lets you chat with an AI tutor grounded in documents you upload; tracks your progress with spaced repetition, streaks and analytics; and produces career artifacts such as resumes, cover letters and LinkedIn posts. Parts of the Service are produced by artificial-intelligence models — see Section 7.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Your account

  • You can sign up with an email address and password, a Google account, or a phone number. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
  • Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • One account per person. Accounts are personal and may not be shared, sold or transferred.
  • Tell us immediately at cognix@roadmapper.space if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

4. Plans, payment and renewal

The Service is offered on the plans described on our pricing page:

  • Explorer (Free) — no charge, with monthly and daily usage limits.
  • Architect Pro — a paid plan billed monthly or annually.
  • Career Sprint — a one-time purchase granting Architect Pro features for 90 days. It does not renew.
  • Credits — the unit AI generation is priced in. Each paid plan includes a credit allowance for each billing period, and credits can also be bought separately as one-time top-up packs.
  • Free trial — a one-time 7-day trial of Architect Pro, limited to one per account. No payment method is required and nothing is charged when it ends: the trial simply expires and the account returns to Explorer (Free).
  • Prices are shown in Indian Rupees (INR) and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payments are processed by our payment partner (currently Razorpay); we do not store your card or banking details.
  • Paid plans run for the purchased term. Where a plan does not auto-renew, we will remind you before it expires; if it lapses, your account moves to the Free plan and your data is retained per our Privacy Policy.
  • Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice. Changes never apply retroactively to a term you have already paid for.

How credits work. Credits are a prepaid usage unit, not money or a stored-value instrument: they have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts and cannot be exchanged for cash except as required by law or under our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

  • Credits included with a plan are issued for each billing period and are replaced — not accumulated — at the start of the next one. Unused plan credits do not carry over.
  • Credits you purchase as a top-up pack do not expire while your account is open, and are spent only after any plan credits for the current period.
  • The credit price of each action is published on the pricing page and shown in the app before you confirm a generation. If a generation fails on our side, the credits are returned to your balance automatically.
  • Credits pay for AI generation only. They do not unlock plan features: tools included with Architect Pro remain available only on a paid plan or trial.

5. Fair use and quotas

Usage is bounded in two ways, both described on the pricing page: AI generation is metered in credits, and some features carry plan limits (for example AI chat messages per day and how many documents you may store). Quotas exist because AI generation has a real cost. We may apply rate limits and technical safeguards to prevent abuse, automated scraping, resale of AI output at scale, or any use that degrades the Service for others. Circumventing quotas or limits is a breach of these Terms.

6. Your content

  • You own what you upload. Documents, notes and other material you submit remain yours.
  • You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process and transform your content solely to provide the Service — for example extracting text from a PDF, creating search embeddings, or passing relevant excerpts to an AI model to answer your questions.
  • You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload. Do not upload content that is unlawful, infringing, malicious, or that contains someone else’s personal data without their permission.
  • Deleting a document from the Service deletes the stored file, its extracted text and its embeddings, as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. AI-generated content — important disclaimer

Roadmaps, study content, quiz questions, chat answers, resumes, cover letters and other AI output are generated by machine-learning models and may be inaccurate, incomplete or outdated. They are provided as learning aids and drafts — not professional, educational, legal or career advice. Review AI output before relying on it, especially resumes and cover letters you send to employers: you are responsible for their final content and accuracy.

Roadmapper does not guarantee any particular learning outcome, exam result, interview, job offer or career result.

8. Third-party services

  • AI providers. To generate output, relevant parts of your prompts and content are processed by third-party AI model providers (currently Google Gemini, with OpenAI as fallback) acting as our processors. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
  • Google Calendar. If you choose to connect your calendar, we access it only to read availability and create the study events you approve. You can disconnect at any time.
  • Sign-in and infrastructure. Authentication, hosting, storage and payments are provided by third parties listed in the Privacy Policy; their terms apply to their services.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law or infringe others’ rights while using the Service;
  • probe, disrupt or overload the Service, or access it by automated means other than our documented interfaces;
  • reverse-engineer, copy or resell the Service or systematically extract its content;
  • use the Service to generate content that is unlawful, hateful, or intended to deceive (including fabricated credentials in career documents);
  • share one paid account across multiple people or organisations.

10. Intellectual property

The Service — its software, design, branding and non-user content — is owned by Cognix and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it while these Terms are in force. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

11. Termination

  • By you: you may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time (see the Privacy Policy for what deletion covers).
  • By us: we may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these Terms, abuse quotas, or create risk for the Service or other users. Where reasonable, we will warn you first.
  • Sections that by their nature should survive (IP, disclaimers, liability limits, governing law) survive termination.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, and our total aggregate liability for any claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose (or ₹1,000 if you have paid nothing). We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of data caused by events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law that cannot be limited by contract.

13. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your content or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. For material changes we will give notice (email or in-app) at least 15 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law and grievances

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over disputes, subject to any mandatory consumer-law rights letting you bring claims where you live. In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules, complaints and grievances can be sent to our Grievance Officer at cognix@roadmapper.space; we aim to acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within 30 days.
